Prior to joining Palantir, Derek worked as a Software Engineer Intern at IBM, where he designed and implemented software architecture and communication protocols that allowed users to access restricted services on Hyperledger Fabric using zero-knowledge proofs. He also created a product that allows users to prove ownership of a token in a zero-knowledge manner. Derek also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Visa, where he built a tool for the QA department to duplicate incidents occurring in VCR production environment into both QA and Developer environments through database analysis and replication. He also designed and implemented an MVP for an iOS app that pushed targeted promotions to Visa cardholders by performing data mining on Visa transactions to discover new spending trends.
